Community Supported Bookstore loyalty programs are based upon the success of the Community Supported Agriculture movement – a program that encourages loyal customers to help local farmers be sustainable.
As proven by other bookstores (thank you Pt. Reyes Books!) a Community Supported Bookstore (CSB) program can do the same for local, independent booksellers.
So many people have told us how important it is to have an independent bookstore in Sausalito.
You can help ensure our success and sustainability by participating in our CSB.
How does it work?
To become a member, you simply deposit $150 to $500 into your personal Sausalito Books by the Bay CSB account. You then draw against that account when you make purchases in-store or online, including special orders. You'll get special member benefits, including a 10% off all new books. We'll keep track of your account balance through our computerized system. Membership is valid for one year from date of purchase and you can add to your balance anytime.
What is all about?
Let’s be honest. Independent bookstores today must compete with big-box chain stores, online book discounters like Amazon, and e-books. It isn’t easy. A CSB will help Sausalito Books by the Bay keep our small retail operation alive and well. At the same time, it will give you a real stake in our continuing success and help us thrive as a productive local, independent business.
